For Art and The Warmth From Within

Art rests peacefully in the heart and mind...

Awake to the majestic sound of Lichfeldian bells and smell the sweet air. Stroll nonchalantly to the duck-congested Stowe Pool and long to hit the sketch pad before your mind can assimilate all the action that unfolds before your intoxicated eyes!

Teleport yourself to the Lichfield Cathedral and let its sheer aura blow your mind away as you prepare to lay the foundations for a living breathing painting thereof on a sunny or a frosty... or perhaps a gloomy day! It matters not... your painting will end up shining all over because you cannot help but be incurably inspired.

The Community Hall known as Cruck House speaks to you straight away. Why not reciprocate by transferring Her very heartbeat on a lucky oh so lucky canvass. Cruck House stands proud in the throes of a council estate. Lichfield presents this form of madness that makes you absorb the multitude of antitheses (a captivating Tudor building sandwiched among a modern quick-fix housing solution that makes an artist gasp for air and then re-invigorate the furnace of their imagination). Could you ask for more?

In the City Centre there is Dr. Samuel Johnson's Birthplace Museum which overlooks the market which can sometimes be chaotic at best and the noise that emanates from the lairy traders can be unsettling but it all adds colour and vigour to an artist's mind's eye as the artist prepares to splash paint in the studuio of their dreams!

The Tudor of Lichfield is also so easy on the eye and the mere thought of the variety of chocolates sold therein can make the painting itself tastier than anyone could possibly assume beforehand. Once finished, a heartfelt artistic vision of this definitive Lichfeldian landmark would not look out of place in any home, office or hall anywhere on the planet. Red-blooded artists would give their right arm just to paint this atmospheric image!

The countryside around the paradise unspoilt that is Lichfield is hardly colourless itself! You only need to teleport yourself a couple of miles and the small city is no more... not a sign of anything suburban. Just Staffordshire serenity that you long to express through your artistic methods. If not then you've obviously got ice in your veins!

The canals and their narrow boats wiggle their elegance beside abundant gereenery and all I can hear is Nature's exhilarating melody. Lichfield and Her surrounding areas do constitute an artist's Paradise Unspoilt because there's never a dull moment around.

Why not digitise as many images of prominent landmarks as well as more obscure spots in this enthralling place whose most famous son gave us the first-ever English Dictionary? Oh why not just remember as many Lichfeldian sights that tickle your eyeballs and then lovingly express them in your own artistic manner so that others can savour your vivid interpretations and you can feel it all ever so intensely!

If you are blessed to roam the many convoluted alleys of the Cathedral City of Lichfield then you will use a great deal of Art's resources as you elaborate on all the facets of this magnificent place with every swerve of your gentle, loving brush.
